Day Trip at U Thong the Dvaravadi Ancient City
Suphan Buri is an ancient town rich in natural and historical heritage, away from Bangkok around 110 Km. The ciy itself dates back to the 9th century and the province was once an important border town during the period of the Ayutthaya Kingdom. There are many historical sites, in addition to a wide variety of natural attractions including mountains, bird parks, fish sanctuaries, and more.
The interesting site is U Thong district, the ancient place in Dvaravati period that was back more than 1,000 years. The attractions at U Thong are U Thong museum, Buddha footprint on the mountain and the largest Buddha statue craved on the cliff.

08:00 Depart Bangkok for U Thong Suphan Buri
10:00 Visit the community museum to learn about Tai Phuan life, then go up to the pavilion to visit the Buddha's footprint at the top of Khao Phra mountain. Visit Luang Por Sang Sri Sanphet, a Buddha image from the Dvaravati period in a mountainside cave.
12:00 Travel to Ban Tamlueng Wan in a cozy atmosphere with a comfortable relaxed corner and a friendly style coffee shop. Delicious your lunch with Thai food "Kradong Set"
13:30 Visit U Thong National Museum. It is a modern multimedia presentation telling the story of art in the Dvaravati period which as collected ancient objects, used items and ornaments that were discovered in the area of U Thong city and on the mountain.
15:00 Stop by to refresh yourself with coffee, drinks, and desserts at Little Hut Cafe, a coffee shop with a relaxed atmosphere. There is a tree glass house with shady area for sitting, relaxing, and photos with beautiful corners
15:30 Visit Phra Pusaya Khiri Sri Suvarnabhumi or Luang Por U Thong. It is the largest Buddha image carved on the cliff in Thailand. The statue is as high as 108 meters. Moreover, the surrounding cliffs also has various of Buddhism carved into it.
